 Highlights

-         Camigliano Estate Wine Tasting:  Enjoy the spectacular wines of Camigliano with a personal cantina tour and lunch of local meats, cheeses and breads.

-          La Foce: Romanic Italian gardens designed by English landscape artist Cecil Pinsent.

 Itinerary

Depart Passignano at 8:30 for the drive through spectacular Tuscan landscape to Montalcino, home of the world famous Brunello Wines.  After a short introductory tour of the town you have free time to enjoy this picturesque medieval town. Sites to see include the Rocca (fortress), the Palazzo Comunale a brick and stone building with a very fine 13th century tower.
The Museo Civico and Diocesano d'Arte Sacra di Montalcino located in the convent of Sant'Agostino, Duomo di San Salvatore has three barrel-vaulted naves and includes fine art pieces of the Renaissance, Church of Sant'Agostino is a fine 14th century Romanesque-Gothic church with the west front decorated with a marble rose window and elegant black and white marble doorway, Church of St. Egidio a Romanesque and Gothic church built in 1325.  
Departing Montalcino we head south into the heart of the Brunello wines and visit the village of Camigliano, population 35, and a visit to the Cantina Camigliano.  A tour of the cellars precedes a wine tasting of the vineyards exceptional range of fine wines including a light lunch of local meats and cheeses.  You cannot get more local than this. 
A visit and tour to the spectacular gardens of La Foce follows.  These exceptional gardens were laid out between 1925 and 1939 and offer a glimpse into Italian country life during the two world wars.  The vistas with cypress lined lanes and distant hills are spectacular.


Return between 6 and 7 pm.
