Love To Travel In Italy for the opera

DAY 1 
Arrive in Milan and transfer to your accomodation situated on the shores of Lake Como. This evening meet your fellow travelers and enjoy a welcome cocktail and snacks at your accommodatio over looking Lake Como. A welcome dinner is included at a local restaurant in the hills above Lake Como. This is about as far off the beaten track you can get and Marco, the chef and owner, welcomes you to this special “forest” dining experience. (D)

Lake Garda

Lake Como – Your day begins with breakfast. With your Central Lake Ferry Pass we will visit the town of Bellagio followed by a visit to Tremezzo where you will visit the Villa Carlotta, famous for its art collection and beautiful gardens. This evening your evening is free to explore the Lake side town of Varenna or use your pass to return to Menagio or Bellagio to enjoy dinner.  (B)

Early Morning in Tuscany

Lake Como – After your breakfast we will travel north following the shore of Lake Como to Colico. You have time to walk the promenade and enjoy the piazza that is open to the lake. This is a wonderful spot to people watch and enjoy la Dolce Vita (the good life). The afternoon we visit center of Bellano to explore the lovely town centre and visit the Orrido an amazing gorge with streams of running water estimated to be about 14 million years old. Late this afternoon we travel our private boat for a central lake tour which will bring us to Locanda dell'Isola Comacina. Located on the only island of Lake Como you will receive a warm welcome by the "Oste" (an old fashioned word for "owner of a pub", this is the way Benvenuto Puricelli, the current owner, likes to call himself). After dinner our private boat will bring us back to Varenna and we return to Varenna and your accommodation. (B,D)

Veneto – After your breakfast and a final cappuccino enjoying the view, we depart for Veneto and your accommodation outside of the medieval town of Soave. Corte d Soave, your home for four nights, is set in the midst of one of the vineyards in this, Italy’s most famous, white wine region. We will make a stop en-route at Sirmione on the shores of Lake Garda. This picturesque town, with its moat and drawbridge, is a perfect spot to enjoy lunch, wander the narrow streets and view the southern end of Lake Garda. Dinner this evening is set in the 17th century gardens of the Villa Perez-Pompei-Sagramoso with renowned chef Marcantonio Sagramoso in complete control of your dining experience. This is 5 Star dining in a 5 Star setting. (B,D)

Cooking Class Anyone

Veneto – After breakfast we start our day with a tour of the cellars of Cantina Sociale Di Soave. These historic cellars have been producing wine since 1898 and continually are praised for their high quality. A tasting of their finest wines follows your tour. What goes best with wine? Well cheese of course and to fulfill this classic combination we make the short drive to Ronca and a tour and tasting, with wine of course, of the region’s most famous cheese Monte Veronese. A long standing family business the Roncolato’s have been producing cheese since the 1920’s. This evening dinner is served at a traditional local Trattoria in the hills above Soave. (B,D)

Veneto – After breakfast we make the one hour drive to Venice for a full day visiting this unique city. Your tour manager will provide you with an orientation tour of this amazing city and a local guide provides you with the history and background. We will stay in Venice for dinner (not included in pricing) arriving back in Soave around 11pm. (B)

Veneto – Breakfast and a leisurely morning. Early afternoon we visit the Valpolicella wine region for a tasting of the fine wines, including the highly acclaimed Amarone, of the Musella vineyards. A selection of local meats and cheeses accompanies the tasting. This afternoon we visit the city of Verona. With its many historical sites, including an exceptional Roman Arena, markets, picturesque piazzas and fine shopping Verona offers the visitor everything needed to spend a relaxing Italian afternoon. Dinner this evening is in the dining rooms of Villa De Winckles. A special “tasting menu” of local cuisine accompanied by regional wines will be served allowing you to explore the regions combinations of food, wines and aromas. (B,D)

After breakfast we depart for Umbria. The four hour drive brings us south to the rolling hills and picturesque towns of Umbria and Tuscany. Your home for the next four nights is The Hotel Lido with a room over looking the Lake of Trasimino in the centre of the Lake Side town of Passignano sul Trasimino. You are in the center of the village where you can experience local Italian customs. This evening dinner is served in the town of Passignano. La Pescatoia. (B,D)

Today you will visit three beautiful and typical Tuscan Hill towns. We start the day with a wine tasting at the family vineyard of Camigliano. Here you will tour the cellars and sample 3 of their wines including their renowned Burnello d’ Montecino.  Montepulciano, Tuscany’s highest hill town offers exceptional views, the opportunity to sample local meals, cheeses, wines and excellent shopping opportunities. Pienze, again a hill town offering beautiful views of the Val d’ Orcia, is the perfect medieval village and a unique example of town planning 500 years old. Cortona will be our final stop today and this town, made famous by Frances May in her novel “Under The Tuscan Sun”, is always a delight to the visitor. Dinner in a local restaurant is included. DAY 10
Today we visit the most famous cities of Umbria. A scenic drive up into the hills behind Assisi, brings us to our lunch stop at La Tavola dei Cavaliero.  Here you will take part in a very special cooking class called "Floured Hands".  Everything you have at lunch today is grown and prepared from produce’ grown or breed at this unique restaurant, this includes the 3 beers, made by the Brewmaster of the property, offered with your meal. After your lunch we visit Assisi and the Basilica of Saint Frances. On the return to Passignano we visit the regions capital, Perugia, there is time to explore, shop and enjoy this beautiful city. DAY 11
A full day to enjoy the Renaissance City of Florence. Your day of art, history and shopping begins with an itroduction walking tour to the city. This introduction to Florence will visit the most famous sights in central Florence. The tour ends at the Accademia and you have reservations to view the art treasures inside including Michelangelo’s “David”. You have free time this afternoon to discover more of Florence and, if you wish, visit the Uffizi Gallery (we highly recommend you contact us in advance to make entrance reservations). Your Love To Travel In Italy Tour Manager will help with any requests. You have time to visit the local markets, visit the Pitti Palace (home of the Medici Family), and explore the city.

DAY 12
We depart from Umbria this morning for Rome. En-route to the Eternal City we stop to visit Orvieto, home to a dazzling gothic Duomo (Cathedral). A series of tunnels running underneath Orvieto almost form another city. Our last stop before Rome is Civita di Bagnoregio, a unique town perched high on a hill and only accessible by a footbridge. There are no lists of attractions, orientation tours, or museum hours. It's just Italy. It is where the visitor can enjoying la dolcezza di fare niente (the sweetness of doing nothing). We continue on to Rome and your centrally located hotel. Your accommodation for 3 nights is in the heart of Trastevere with all the atmosphere of medieval Rome at your door steps. DAY 13
Imperial Rome & Nero’s Rome – A private in-depth small group tour of the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, the Palatine Hill and Under Ground Rome. This is a journey that will take you through the Daily life, politics and spectacles in Ancient Rome. We guarantee entrance to the recently-opened underground portions of the Colosseum including the third tier and the internal levels which are not opened to the general public.  This evening is free to enjoy the magic of a Roman evening. Your tour manager will be happy to take you on an evening Roman walk through some of the most famous cities in the "Eternal City"

DAY 14
You start the day with VIP Early Entry small group tour to the Vatican Museums and St. Peter’s Basilica, you will take an impassioned voyage into history and art, religion and politics; an intense experience of a careful selection of artworks that will help you comprehend the events and the ideas of the time, and meet the popes who commissioned them along with the artists who created them.
